The Pastels at La Chunky
The Pastels record their new album at La Chunky. The legendary Glasgow indie stalwarts have chosen the studio to work on their latest release with engineer/producer Alistair “Bal” Cooke. Recordings have gone splendidly and mixing is about to begin - direct to ½” analogue tape, an increasingly rare request! Studio techies are busy with line-up tones and oscilloscopes getting our trusty tape machines ready for action. Oh how we love tape here at the Towers!!
NBC 4 in the United
States has named 'See Heart See
Muscle' by
Amplifico as #10 in their list of "Must Buy CDs of Early 2008",
alongside the likes of Portishead, Lenny Kravitz and REM! The album was
produced and mixed by Ronan and Colin at the studio during 2007. Buy
it! It is fantastic.
Isosceles record latest critically-acclaimed single at La Chunky: after
being spotted by Alex Kapranos, Isosceles scored a coveted support slot
with Scottish indie pop royalty Franz Ferdinand. Onwards and upwards,
the band are now about to launch the latest single, ‘Kitch
Bitch/Watertight’, - recorded at La Chunky Studios. Launch
party is on 18th April at SWG3, Glasgow
La Chunky Demo helps win record deal for hotly-tipped Glasgow band
Correcto. Domino Records, home to Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand
were so knocked out by the band’s recent demo and live shows
that they signed the band up to a recording deal AND a publishing deal.
More proof that a Chunky recording reaches places other recordings
can’t.
